[edit] Terms?

I think the author`s definition for meal powder is incorrect, although thereĀ“s a lot of confusion about this and similar terms in every community.

"Meal powder" or "Milled gunpowder" is ball (or wheel) milled BP, but unprocessed in a press. "Meal D" or terms like "fine meal" etc. are well-defined terms to denominate BP that has been corned (pressed with a hydraulic press, crushed and separated by size), showing a specific particle size.

Pyrotechnic literature often uses "Meal powder" or "milled gunpowder" to indicate that home- or factory-made gunpowder works fine and may substitute the expensive commercial grades. The burning characteristics can be quite similar however.
